Why I Have Trouble in Breathing on Dialysis

2014-06-13 06:06

Question: Hi, my mother has been going through dialysis for the last 1 year. She doesn't have sugar, but her kidneys are not working well. Lately, for the last 4 months she has been going through heavy breathing and restlessness. She cant sleep in the night. When she tries to sleep, she gets up sits saying she is unable to breath. But when she sits she feels better. Could you suggest some thing?

Answer: It is common for dialysis patients have trouble in breathing. Short of breath or heavy breath are two main breath problems. There are many reasons that may cause trouble in breathing. Anemia, more fluid or salt intake, allergic reaction to dialyzate, high blood pressure, or congestive heart failure, all can be the inducing factors. Your mother should talk with her doctor and have a test to find the cause. However, I have to say that root cause is the damaged kidney function. As kidney cannot work adequately, dialysis is taken to be a replacement of it. However, dialysis has limited curative effects and another treatment that is natural and can take place of dialysis is badly needed. Micro-Chinese Medicine is such a therapy. It is an innovative treatment base on traditional Chinese herbs. You may have known the effects of Chinese herbs as they are so popular around the world. Your mother may as well try this therapy to deal with her trouble in breathing. Good luck!
