How High Can Creatinine Level Go Without Dialysis

How high can creatinine level go without dialysis? Dialysis is one of most widely used kidney replacement therapies for people with advanced kidney disease. Clinically, creatinine level is one important index to judge whether patients need to begin dialysis.

In principle, dialysis may be recommended for patients when their creatinine level is above 5.0mg/dl. We all know our kidney is responsible to remove wastes, toxins and excess water from the body, so general population’s creatinine level usually ranges between 0.5-1.3mg/dl. However, for people whose kidneys are damaged severely, more and more wastes will build up in their blood if no effective kidney replacement treatment or kidney repairing therapy.

At this situation, dialysis is one common choice for these patients. Does this mean patients have to start dialysis once their creatinine level raises to 5.0? Of course not. The reason is that even though elevated creatinine is an important index, it isn’t the only index. According to American Kidney Foundation guidelines, low kidney function is the most important index that decide when patient should go through dialysis.

From the above analysis, we can know if patients with high creatinine level want to avoid dialysis or further dialysis, kidney function improvement is a must. When their kidney function is increased to more than 15% and maintains stable, they can live healthy and longer without dialysis.

In order to increase kidney function, repairing damaged renal functioning tissues is helpful. According to this characteristic, Immunotherapy is created that can not only purify blood to lower patients’ high creatinine level, just as dialysis does, but also increase damaged kidney cells’ self-curative ability and transport enough nutrition to these cells. With increased curative ability and enough nutrition, a large part of kidney cells can recover to work. Well then, these patients can avoid dialysis completely and they don’t need to be bothered by their high creatinine level.
