Does Arm Edema Cause Kidney Cyst

I have an ultrasound last Saturday I found out that I have a cortical cyst in my left kidney. I’ve worried because my left arm have an edema. Is this cause of the cysts in my kidney?

The Doctor Answered:

Does Arm Edema Cause Kidney CystTo be frank, the cause of kidney cyst is still unclear now. But I can surely tell you that edema cannot cause a renal cortical cyst. On the opposite, a large kidney cyst that causes kidney damages may lead to arm edema. Why? A cortical cyst forms in the cortex of the kidneys. It can grow very big due to some factors. The big kidney cyst can press nearby organs, including the kidney itself. As a result, the blood volume passing through kidneys is reduced due to obstruction. Then, more and more nephrons die because of ischemia and anoxia.

However, kidney damage is rare in patients with simple and small kidney cyst. Therefore, to find the real cause of arm edema, you’d better take other tests. You can consult our doctors online directly, and he or she will give you some suggestions for free.

To manage edema as well as renal cortical cyst, I recommend you to take traditional Chinese herbs. The natural Chinese medicines cannot shrink kidney cyst but also can improve kidney function. That is to remove extra fluid out of the body in a natural way. We have oral medicines and external applications such as Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Medicated Bath, also called Full Bath Therapy.
