2015-05-06 15:07

Treatment for Bosniak IIF Renal Cortical CystA renal cortical cyst is a common type of kidney cyst. It is a fluid-filled sac forming in the renal cortex. You can find more information about the symptoms and treatment for Bosniak IIF renal cortical cyst.

What does Bosniak IIF renal cortical cyst mean?

The Bosniak classification system of renal cystic masses divides renal cystic masses into five categories based on imaging characteristics on contrast-enhanced CT. It is helpful in predicting a risk of malignancy and suggesting either follow up or treatment.

Bosniak IIF renal cortical cyst has the following characteristics:

-minimally complex but requiring follow-up

-increased number of septa, minimally thickened or enhancing septa or wall

-thick calcifications

-hyperdense cyst, i.e.:

>3 cm diameter, mostly intrarenal (less than 25% of wall visible); no enhancement

-work-up: needs ultrasound/CT follow up - no strict rules on the time frame but could do at around 6 months.

-percentage malignant: ~ 5% 6.

Symptoms of Bosniak IIF renal cortical cyst

When the cyst is very large, it will compress nearby tissues, including the kidney itself. As a result, the capsule of kidneys is stretched, causing pain in the lower back, side, flank or stomach.

Patients may also see red or pink urine since there is blood in urine. In addition, patients with large renal cortical cyst may also have high blood pressure, or urinary tract infection, etc.

Treatment for Bosniak IIF renal cortical cyst

In order to treat kidney cyst from the root, I recommend you to take traditional Chinese herbs. They can inhibit the cyst epithelial cells from secreting more fluid so that kidney cyst growth stops. Meanwhile, blood circulation increases so that fluid can be reabsorbed and discharged naturally. Welcome your consultation!
