Incidence and prevalence of ADPKD

Autosomal Dominant means that if one parent has the disease, there is a 50% chance that the disease will pass down to the child. It does not favor male or female, both have an equal chance of inheriting the disease.

Signs and symptoms of ADPKD

Autosomal Dominant PKD is often called adult polycystic kidney disease. Patient usually won’t see symptoms until they are over 30 to 40. Possible signs and symptoms include:

-Dull pain in the lower back, side or abdomen. It sometimes radiates into groins.
