Question: Sir, my mother is suffering from polycystic kidney disease. Her creatinine level is 12.2 and blood urea is 279, so suggest the proper guidance to me. How my mother is cured?
Answer: Both creatinine level and BUN are the indicators of kidney function. When their level increases, it means your kidneys are damaged severely.
Creatinine is the by-product of creatine and creatine is from muscle contraction and the meat you consume. The normal creatinine level for an adult female ranges from 0.5-1.1 mg/dL. Urea is produced from the breakdown of protein already in the body and protein in your diet. The normal blood urea nitrogen for healthy indidividuals is 7-20 mg/dL in adults. Creatinine 12.2 and BUN 279 are both much higher than the normal level. Your mother should do dialysis immediately to cleanse these wastes from the blood to prevent further damage. And the same time, the kidney cysts should be brought under controlled as well, or they will grow big enough to burst. If the kidneys are so big that they oppress the organs around. Surgery to remove the kidneys may be needed.
In diet, your mother should control her protein intake within 0.2 g/kg per day if she does not begin to have dialysis. If she is on dialysis, protein intake may be controlled within 1.2 g/kg per day.
In treatment, your mother should try to preserve her remaining kidney function and shrink kidney cysts. In China Kidney Hospital, we have therapies such as Medicated Bath, Foot Bath, Enema Therapy, Circle Therapy and other Chinese Medicine to help cleanse blood. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy helps stop the growth of cysts and repair the damaged kidneys to improve kidney function.
As long as kidney function improves and kidney cysts shrink, creatinine level and BUN will gradually go down. If you do not mind to sending your mother’s medical report to pkdtreatment169@gmail.com, we can provide you further help.
