For some children who have large cysts, maybe running also makes them get uncomfortable, thus, running should be avoided for large cyst patients.
For children with ARPKD, whether they can do sports or what kind of sports is fit for them depends on exact conditions of patients. In addition, it is very necessary for children to avoid dehydration during doing sports. Dehydration makes patients with PKD have a higher risk of kidney stones.
In general, walking, jogging, swimming and riding are all OK for PKD patients, but football, basketball and hockey need to be avoided in daily life. Exercise should be controlled properly and do not be exhausted. Drinking enough water is necessary.
