Polycystic Kidney Disease causes no physical discomforts in early stage, but with the deterioration of illness, many symptoms will appear gradually. Well, what are the symptoms of Polycystic Kidney Disease?
PKD can cause countless cysts in kidney. With the increase and enlargement of kidney cyst, the following symptoms will appear:
1. Back pain
Back pain is the most common complain of Polycystic Kidney Disease. It can be caused by different conditions, so for people with polycystic kidney, they need to firstly find out the real cause of the pain feeling and then take corresponding measures.
2. Kidney enlargement
With the increase and enlargement of kidney cyst, kidney becomes larger and larger. In severe cases, the enlarged kidney may occupy the whole enterocoelia.
3. Blood urine
Blood urine is another symptom that Polycystic Kidney Disease patients may experience. Rupture of kidney cyst is the most common cause of blood urine which is usually accompanied with sharp pain in lower back. In such a case, patients need to take some measures to prevent severe complications like peritonitis.
4. Frequent urinary tract infection
Frequent urinary tract infection actually is not a symptom of polycystic kidney, but a complication of it, which can cause symptoms like burning sensation during urination, urgent urination but usually pass small amounts of urine, pain in the lower belly, cloudy urine and even fever.
The above are the most common symptoms of Polycystic Kidney Disease, but not the all. For people with polycystic kidney, when illness develops to kidney failure stage, they also experience some other symptoms like nausea, votming, skin itching, tiredness, swelling and dizziness.
