Abdominal pain is a complain of kidney cyst patients. We all know small kidney cysts are harmless and they cause no impairment of kidney function, but why do patients still experience abdominal pain? What are the possible causes for kidney cyst patients to have pain feeling?
1. Kidney cyst pulls renal capsule, leading to pain feeling
Kidney cyst in grow inside the kidney and outside the kidney. For small cyst growing in the outer part of kidney, they pull renal capsule, which can lead to pain feeling as there are nerves on renal capsule. Under such a condition, even if the cysts are small, patients also experience pain feeling in kidney location and abdomen.
2. Rupture of kidney cyst
Pain feeling also appears when kidney cyst ruptures. Large kidney cyst may rupture due to mild knock on kidney location, so if the cysts are very large, patients need to be careful about their daily activities and try to avoid movements that need them twist their waist. Besides, in such a case, pain feeling is always accompanied with blood urine which usually disappears within one week.
3. Infection
Kidney cyst patients may also experience pain feeling due to infection. Antibiotics are the most commonly used medicines for infection.
4. Kidney stone
Abdominal pain may also resulted from kidney stone in cases of kidney cyst. Small stones can be passed easily, but for large kidney stones, medical treatment is usually needed to remove them out of the body.
In cases of kidney cyst, many conditions can cause abdominal pain, so finding out the real cause and then taking corresponding measures is very important. Besides, small kidney cyst is harmless, but for large kidney cysts, if they are not removed successfully, kidney damages will be caused. Therefore, taking treatment as soon as possible to get large kidney cyst removed is very important.
